Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, who serves as the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, has publicly condemned what he calls the "unruly conduct" of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority in Parliament.

During the recent sitting on October 22, he claims the NDC members provoked the NPP Majority by intentionally taking over their seats, leading to a tense exchange in the chamber.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement at Pantang Nursing and Midwifery Training College on October 24, Napo emphasized that Parliament should be a platform for intellectual discourse and debate, not a venue for physical altercations.

"The free-for-all-fight and bloodshed they [NDC Minority] were expecting in parliament last Tuesday, we didn’t give them. We are disciplined and mature...Parliament is a place for intellectual debate, not a boxing ring,” he stated, adding that the NPP prioritizes national peace and stability above conflict.

With nearly 16 years of experience in Parliament, Dr. Opoku Prempeh advised his NDC counterparts to focus on their legislative responsibilities and represent their constituents' needs. He described the recent disruption as "reprehensible" and warned against such behavior, which he considers unbecoming of those in Parliament.

As part of his constituency tour in Greater Accra, he also highlighted the achievements of the NPP government in the health sector, notably mentioning the Agenda 111 initiative and the reinstated nursing trainee allowance, both of which he credited with strengthening Ghana's healthcare framework.

He encouraged the students at Pantang Nursing and Midwifery Training College to maintain confidence in the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership, promising that the party is dedicated to further improving their welfare.
