In the lead-up to Ghana's December 7 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, stated that his team remains undeterred by criticisms from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Touring the Ahafo Region, Dr. Bawumia underscored the NPP’s focus on development, urging supporters to ignore opposing “insults” and instead rally around the NPP’s record of accomplishments.

On November 2, Dr. Bawumia, alongside his spokesperson and parliamentary candidate for Tano North, Dr. Gideon Boako, engaged with voters in Duayaw Nkwanta.

This stop concluded a two-day outreach in Ahafo, where the NPP’s top leadership presented its vision and promised concrete improvements in infrastructure. Among the key promises was an assurance to repair the Tepa-Duayaw Nkwanta road and to initiate plans for a new district hospital in Dormaa if elected.

In Dormaa, Dr. Bawumia praised Dr. Boako's commitment to serving Tano North. Boako, who hopes to replace the current MP, Freda Prempeh, promised unwavering dedication to development.

“No matter what the NDC does, I am confident that the people will back us,” Dr. Boako stated, highlighting his close ties to the community and promising to continue the work of his predecessors.

Dr. Bawumia echoed a confident tone about the NPP’s standing, emphasizing that the party’s achievements would speak louder than the NDC’s criticisms. “They know they’re losing,” he said, addressing his supporters. “We are committed to developing every community, and we won’t be swayed by negative rhetoric.”

The NPP’s strategy, as conveyed by Dr. Bawumia, is to rely on its record, including numerous development projects across the nation.

Dr. Bawumia hopes to channel focus toward the upcoming election by dismissing the opposition's attacks, encouraging a steadfast commitment to the NPP’s vision.
