WAEC Releases Provisional Results for 12,452 Private WASSCE Candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for 12,452 private candidates who sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) – 2025 First Series.

Candidates can now access their results through WAEC’s online portal by entering their examination number and required credentials.


Breakdown of Candidates

The total entry figure includes:

  • 5,269 males
  • 7,998 females
  • 738 candidates were absent.


Cases of Malpractice

During the examination and marking process, WAEC detected several cases of malpractice, resulting in:

  • 34 candidates' subject results being withheld.
  • 43 candidates' entire results withheld pending the conclusion of investigations.


Warning Against Result Upgrading Scams

WAEC has issued a strong warning against scammers who target candidates by offering to upgrade their results for a fee via mobile money transfers.


"The Council wishes to caution members of the public to be wary of scammers who contact candidates and promise to upgrade their results for a fee payable through mobile money transfers," WAEC stated.

WAEC reassured the public that its results database is well secured, and all results can be authenticated. Institutions and organizations are advised to confirm results directly through WAEC’s official website, www.waecgh.org.


How to Check WASSCE Results Online

To check results, candidates should follow these steps:

  1. Visit the WAEC Ghana website: www.waecgh.org
  2. Select the WASSCE for Private Candidates option.
  3. Enter your Examination Number and PIN from your scratch card.
  4. Click Submit to view your results.


WAEC's Assurance to Stakeholders

WAEC emphasized its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and advised stakeholders to rely solely on official verification platforms.

“Institutions and organizations are therefore advised to confirm or verify results presented to them directly from WAEC or access the confirmation/verification service online,” the statement added.
