Ghana’s Black Stars continued their impressive form in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Madagascar at the Grand Stade Al-Hoceima in Morocco. The win cements Ghana’s position at the top of Group I with 15 points, bringing them closer to securing a spot at the global showpiece.

First-Half Brilliance

The Black Stars wasted no time imposing themselves on the game, with Thomas Partey breaking the deadlock in the 11th minute. The Arsenal midfielder latched onto a Jordan Ayew cross from a free-kick to head home the opener.

Despite dominating the early exchanges, Ghana missed several opportunities to extend their lead. Madagascar began to grow into the game as the half progressed but found Benjamin Asare and the Ghanaian defense too tough to break down.

Partey-Ayew Duo Shine Again

The second half saw Ghana regain full control, and just nine minutes in, Partey struck again — this time nodding in a perfectly delivered corner kick from Jordan Ayew for his second goal of the night.

Ghana maintained relentless pressure, and just five minutes later, Partey found Jordan Ayew, who quickly set up Mohammed Kudus. The West Ham forward confidently slotted home the third goal, all but sealing the victory.

Game Management and Group I Standings

After securing a three-goal cushion, Ghana expertly managed the rest of the game, maintaining possession and slowing down Madagascar’s momentum.

The win solidifies Ghana’s spot at the top of Group I with 15 points, followed by Madagascar with 10 points and Mali with 9 points.
