National Service Scheme (NSS) allowances will soon be increased from the current GHC715 to a more sustainable amount, according to the National Service Authority (NSA) boss, Felix Gyamfi.

NSA Boss’ Statement

Speaking on 3FM Sunrise (April 2, 2025), Felix Gyamfi confirmed ongoing discussions to raise the NSS allowance from GHC715 to a more sustainable figure.

"The current allowance (GHC715) is inadequate. The government is working on an adjustment to cushion service personnel in these challenging times."


He also urged District Managers to provide accommodation for posted personnel to improve their living conditions.

On the short military training for NSS personnel, he confirmed that discussions were ongoing, with hopes of launching the initiative this year.
