Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Abuakwa North are engulfed in fear following reports that four individuals have allegedly died after being compelled to invoke a curse linked to a purported GHC 5,000 bribe from Palgrave Boakye Danquah.
Doris Quainoo, one of the over 300 delegates allegedly coerced by Danquah's campaign team to invoke the curse, has demanded that the party hold the
Government Spokesperson on Security and Governance accountable should any further harm come to the delegates.
In a strong rebuttal, Palgrave Boakye Danquah denied the allegations of coercion and the invocation of curses.
In a letter dated yesterday, he addressed the accusations published by the Daily Democrat, a media outlet perceived to be sympathetic to the opposition.
He stated:
"I, Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah, am compelled to respond to malicious allegations published by the Daily Democrat. Despite my gracious concession in the NPP parliamentary primaries held in January 2024 in Abuakwa North, the Daily Democrat in a publication dated July 15, 2024, falsely claims that I asked delegates of my party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to swear and invoke curses."
Danquah emphasized that the allegations are unfounded and damaging to his reputation. He further clarified that, despite his royal lineage, he has never seen the black stool, which is reserved for chiefs to see only once in their lifetime.
He also highlighted that the invocation of curses is prohibited in the entire Akyem Abuakwa Kingdom.
Danquah assured his supporters, the media, and the general public of his dedication to peaceful and patriotic politics, aiming to clear his name from these damaging claims.
