Mahama Promises Cocoa Processing Facility in Kukuom, Championing Industrialisation and Youth Employment
Read the Full Story
The NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has promised to construct a cocoa processing plant in Kukuom, Asunafo South District, Ahafo Region. During a campaign tour in the area, he made this pledge, which highlights his emphasis on addressing youth unemployment and promoting regional development.
The building is in line with Mahama's industrialisation vision, which is a major part of his suggested 24-hour economic program. This strategy promises to increase production, enhance service accessibility, and most crucially, create jobs—especially for young people—in order to support a dynamic and continuously operating economy.
Through the establishment of industrial hubs throughout Ghana, especially in agricultural areas, Mahama aims to construct a self-sufficient system in which local raw resources are processed to create an ecosystem that is more economical and efficient. The Kukuom cocoa processing plant is a perfect illustration of this tactic.
Declaring that "this will discontinue the exportation of cocoa for processing," Mahama emphasised the facility's contribution to community economic empowerment and value addition. The facility will support the expansion of the cocoa industry in the area in addition to creating job opportunities.
The community finds resonance in this vow, as the Kukuom chief articulated his comprehension of Mahama's goal for a 24-hour economy. It shows a move away from only depending on the export of raw materials and the increasing requirement for investments in processing facilities.
The planned cocoa processing facility, which represents Mahama's dedication to industrialisation and youth employment, highlights his vision for a wealthy future for Ghana. If carried out, this project has the power to improve many people's lives both locally and globally, establishing Kukuom as a centre for opportunity and economic progress.
