Key player for the Hasaacas Ladies, Veronica Baah, is certain that the team's performance won't be affected by the departure of long-time coach Yussif Basigi. After 21 years with Hasaacas Ladies, Basigi recently departed to become a member of Simba Queens, a formidable Tanzanian team.
"We want him to know that we are following his instructions and that we are doing so successfully. We are unaffected by it. I had terrific contact with him, so even though I was concerned when I learnt he was going, people move on in life. I'm thrilled for him to have this chance," she said.
During his illustrious career, Basigi led the Hasaacas ladies to five league championships and a historic treble in 2021. He received recognition earlier this year from the 2024 Ghana Football Awards as the Women's Coach of the Year. Baah and her teammates are committed to carrying on the legacy he helped create even in his absence.
