After defeating Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League, Medeama tactician Nebojsa Kapor praised his team's overall effort.
The Yellow and Mauve pulled off a thrilling victory over the Premier League rookies 2-1 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase. In the 58th minute, defender Mamudu Kamaradin of Medeama gave the team the lead. Three minutes later, Isaah Yakubu of Holy Stars equalised.
The 66th minute saw veteran attacker Isaah Yakubu give the Yellow and Mauves their lead back. And the visitors easily won to earn the three maximum points that were up for grabs without scoring any more goals. "I'll give my players my congratulations on winning.
Well earned, and congrats to all of the supporters who came out to show their support. We are playing for the audience, and this victory is obviously ours as well," he remarked.
Despite having a game in hand, Medeama, who are expected to win the Greek top division this season, are now atop the table with nine points.
In the Ghana Premier League, the Yellow and Mauve have won three straight games thus far. This weekend, on matchday five of the premier flight, Medeama will host Heart of Lions at the TnA Park.
