In an exciting display of academic prowess, Wenchi Methodist Senior High School (SHS) emerged victorious in the first contest of the day for the Bono Region in the National Science and Maths Quiz. Competing against Jinijini SHS, Wenchi Methodist SHS, Methodist SHTS, and Sumaman SHS, Wenchi Methodist SHS demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the rounds.


The competition began with all four schools showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking. By the end of the second round, the scores were as follows:

  • Wenchi Methodist SHS: 23 points
  • Sumaman SHS: 13 points
  • Methodist SHTS: 10 points
  • Jinijini SHS: 09 points


Wenchi Methodist SHS continued to build on their lead in the third round, answering almost all of their True/False questions correctly. The scores at the end of the third round were:

  • Wenchi Methodist SHS: 35 points
  • Sumaman SHS: 23 points
  • Methodist SHTS: 11 points
  • Jinijini SHS: 11 points


The contest concluded with Wenchi Methodist SHS securing a decisive victory with an impressive total score of 41 points. The final standings were:

  • Wenchi Methodist SHS: 41 points
  • Sumaman SHS: 23 points
  • Methodist SHTS: 11 points
  • Jinijini SHS: 11 points


This victory marks a significant achievement for Wenchi Methodist SHS, ending an eight-year drought in their pursuit of quiz competition success.
