2024 Ghana Ghana Club 100 Awards: Newmont Africa Retains Top Spot as Best Company in Ghana

Newmont Africa, specifically the Ahafo South Mine, has once again been named the best company in Ghana. It topped the 21st Ghana Club 100 Awards held by the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC).


This year’s awards ceremony, which took place in Accra on October 25, highlighted Newmont Africa’s sustained excellence in corporate governance and contribution to the Ghanaian economy.


The mining giant took first place for a second consecutive year, ahead of major competitors including Goldfields Ghana Ltd and MTN Ghana, which placed second and third respectively.


Established in 1998, the awards honor the top 100 private companies in Ghana, emphasizing strong corporate practices and economic impact as benchmarks for excellence in the country’s private sector.


This year’s theme, “Fostering Domestic Champions: Building Local Capacity,” underscored the GIPC's focus on encouraging local business growth and market expansion.


The Ghana Club 100 Awards recognize outstanding companies for their accomplishments, aiming to inspire continued growth and motivate businesses across the private sector.


This year’s top 10 companies included key players across sectors, such as GCB Bank PLC, Ecobank Ghana, and Sunon Asogli Power Company Ltd. Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd served as a media partner for the event.
